The Control Systems Engineer works on control system projects and gains hands-on experience supporting the design, development, integration, testing, and installation of control system hardware and software. This role focuses on building foundational technical skills while working under the guidance of assigned project leads, supervisors, and company leadership. This is an onsite position that can work out of any of the above locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline combined with relevant technical experience
  • Typically 02 years of relevant industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Gain experience supporting hardware and software design, development, integration, testing, and installation of control systems
  • Develop basic troubleshooting skills through hands-on project and field experience
  • Accumulate field experience by assisting with installation, startup, and commissioning activities
  • Assist other project members during installation, startup, and commissioning
  • Gain exposure to and experience with Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
  • Read and interpret P&IDs and wiring diagrams
  • Develop a basic understanding of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications
  • Practice procedures outlined in the companys Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Proofread self-generated documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Develop a basic understanding of control system design
  • Develop a basic understanding of Information Technology (IT) systems, network infrastructure, and computer system design as related to control system integration
  • Complete assigned tasks accurately, on schedule, and within budget
  • Understand assigned scope of work and escalate issues beyond that scope to the project lead
  • Provide accurate and timely status updates on assigned tasks
  • Communicate with customers in an effective, positive, and proactive manner
  • Follow customer-specific site standards and procedures
  • Conduct all business professionally
  • Provide attentive, responsive, and high-quality customer support
  • Follow up consistently and honor customer commitments
