About The Position

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Control System Engineer to join their team in Indianapolis, IN, with a hybrid work schedule. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on flagship Rolls-Royce programs, tackling complex technological challenges as part of a global, multi-disciplinary team. The Control System Engineer will be responsible for assigned control system functions and interfaces, providing technical guidance and direction to a small team of engineers to ensure technical outcomes meet appropriate standards and quality. The position involves collaborating with a global engineering community to identify areas for collaboration and knowledge exchange, supporting full life cycle development, and mentoring junior engineers on processes, tools, and technical solutions. Travel up to 20% between Rolls-Royce sites and up to 10% for other purposes is expected. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering with 1+ years of product development engineering experience
  • Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • PhD in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering
  • U.S. Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of product development engineering experience
  • Experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience with requirement development tools (Doors and Cameo).
  • Experiencing interpreting test results and provide an informed opinion or conclusion as to the outcome of the analysis. This includes an understanding of measurement uncertainty.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and an ability to understand the level of analysis required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for technical delivery of existing electronic engine control systems to different or updated aircraft engine applications against program milestones
  • Develop electronic control system requirements, design and verification work products for safety critical applications as per ARP4754 and appropriate guidance within DO-178B/C.
  • Review engineering work products for technical documentation, quality, completeness
  • Exchange technical ideas and information in a concise and logical way.
  • Promote, encourage and support the identification and implementation of continuous improvement within their immediate project assignments.
