The functions are as follow but not limited to: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Control Cage Pharmacy Technician to join our team at a long-term care pharmacy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the control cage, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the overall operations of the pharmacy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy setting, particularly with controlled substances, is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in pharmacy software and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the control cage operations, including inventory management and record-keeping.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations regarding controlled substances.
  • Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications as per prescriptions and pharmacy protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of controlled substances and report discrepancies as needed.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Participate in training and mentoring of new pharmacy staff as required.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
