About The Position

Are looking for a career as a Control Panel Builder that will provide new technical challenges and responsibilities? Essential Functions: Construction of control panels to include: Interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, panel layout, drilling, cutting, taping, mounting components, performing peer reviews. Testing and troubleshooting of control panels to include: Point to point checks of wiring, power up testing, final testing and inspection in accordance to written procedures and UL508a standards. Wiring Equipment to include: Installing conduit, pulling wire, and terminating devices on the machine or system. Equipment Integration Testing to include: Working together with software programmers to commission machines and systems through a series of functional tests. Customer interface: Participate in customer shop testing, communicate with external customers as required, meet customer delivery expectations. Field Support: Occasional visits to customer sites for panel and equipment repair and upgrades.

Requirements

  • 2 year technical degree or equivalent electrical/panel building experience.
  • 1-2 year experience wiring industrial control panels and or equipment.
  • Intermediate skill in reading specifications, blueprints, parts lists, schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Understanding of electrical fundamentals
  • Knowledge of electrical controls components
  • Ability to perform electrical testing and troubleshooting
  • Intermediate to advanced skill in the use of common hand tools (with specialized tools used in control panel construction preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of electrical control system theory and operation to include basic programming
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Familiar with UL 508a and National Electrical Code
  • Some experience with diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot electrical issues
