About The Position

The Electrician / Control Panel Builder II at Aqua-Chem will perform quality assembly of power and control panels for water purification systems. Responsibilities will include the installation and wiring of a variety of instruments, valves and panels in accordance with drawings, manuals, specifications and production schedules. Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm (OT may be required on occasional Fridays) Location: Onsite; Knoxville, TN Pay Range: $26.00 - $34.00/hr (Dependent on Experience) Benefits: Group Medical, Dental Vision, 401(k) Match, Paid Vacation, Paid Holidays, and Paid Sick Time. +Employer Paid Benefits: STD, LTD, Life AD&D

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Electrical and/or technical training required, as it applies to the essential duties of the position.
  • Minimum of (3) years electrical assembly experience.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and assembly blueprints.
  • Able to troubleshoot as needed.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to work up to 12 hours standing and walking on cement surfaces and will be required to regularly bend, stretch, stoop, squat, climb ladders, and climb stairs
  • Must be able to work in temperature ranges corresponding to the outside ambient temperatures
  • Basic shop math and measurement skills
  • Ability to work with little or no direct supervision in carrying out assigned duties.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow blueprints and schematics in accordance with required specifications.
  • Able to work overtime as required

Responsibilities

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings to determine specifications.
  • Assemble a variety of items from assembly drawings, wire tables and/or written instruction.
  • Experienced in all aspects of building complex electrical control panels from start to finish
  • Experienced with systems ranging from 120VAC to 575VAC, 24VDC, and 4-20mA.
  • Experienced in testing and inspection of electrical control panels, point to point, hi-pot, trouble shooting, etc.
  • Familiar with NEC codes applying to industrial equipment, UL and CSA labeling.
  • Builds, repairs, installs and maintains electrical panels and electrical components as required.
  • Conduit and tubing bending as needed.
  • Connect equipment with different power sources, both high and low voltage.
  • Experience using electrical instrumentation for measurements and diagnostics.
  • Visually inspect completed assemblies and sub-assemblies to ensure that specifications and quality standards have been met.
  • Observes all applicable safety rules.
  • Responsible for maintaining work area in a clean and orderly manner to help ensure safe working conditions.
  • Maintain established production standards to help ensure production schedules and quality are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned/required by Supervisor or Manager.
