Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned) Accountable for manning the power plant control room in an effort to assist the engineering team in operating and maintaining the power facility. Responsible for ongoing monitoring and safe operation of 800 MW combined cycle power plant in accordance with all safe engineering practices, including monitoring and oversight of environmental permit limits. Responsibilities include monitoring and operating performance monitoring equipment, creating and maintaining plant records, issuing lockout/tag-out permits, hot work permits and confined space entry permits. Accountable for proper implementation of lockout/tag-outs, how work permits and overall safety program and procedures for all disciples during assigned shift(s). Based on monitoring duties, analysis and troubleshooting, initiates and/or completes work requests for maintenance and repairs. Works with plant maintenance staff and engineers to identify and troubleshoot plant equipment. Performs routine and preventative maintenance when facility conditions allow, and assists with shutdown related maintenance and repairs. Maintains the facility’s water treatment and water chemistry programs in conjunction with Water Treatment Technicians. Water treatment responsibilities include monitoring, testing and corrective action within defined parameters. Develops and maintains a variety of equipment and operational logs and other reports. Assists with identifying and implementing plant improvements and modifications including contributing to the development of operations, maintenance, safety and environmental policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with all local, State and Federal regulations and plant procedures.
