This role is part of Alcon's Quality & Regulatory Affairs function, a team that ensures our products are in compliance with global, local, and internal regulations and meet the strictest standards of quality as we help people see brilliantly. The Operator II, Quality Control Labs is primarily responsible for handling complex tasks in Quality Control Labs, including inspection, testing, and analysis of products and raw materials using various techniques and equipment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and make minor decisions to ensure quality and compliance at our Manufacturing Facility in Houston, TX. Specifics include: Handle complex manual or operational tasks to ensure efficient lab processes. Perform inspection, testing, and analysis of products and raw materials to meet specifications and standards, utilizing various analytical techniques and lab equipment, and report test results. Make minor decisions within task scope, requiring technical skills and problem-solving abilities. Support lab operations and collaborate with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to maintain safety, quality, and cost standards. Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining accurate and complete documentation. Ensure rigorous quality control, complete all required training, and contribute to the overall compliance of the organization. Commit to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance. All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training. Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization. Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations. Use various measuring devices including manual hand tools such as calipers and pin gauges, automated inspection equipment, and using fixtures. Accepting and rejecting components based on inspection instructions, checklists, and measurement reports to ensure quality standards and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Notifying Molding Line Coordinators of defective components. Use of basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe). Use of Automated Inspection Equipment software and Production Planning software.
