About The Position

The Contracts Manager is responsible for managing all contracts within Ulteig’s Power Lifeline sector, ensuring strong contract governance and compliance. This role provides contract lifecycle expertise, balancing the protection of Ulteig’s assets, minimizing claims and business risk, and supporting client and business line needs. As a key partner to execution teams, this position ensures that contract workflows are efficient, structured, and aligned with business goals. The Contracts Manager reports to the Director – Project Management & EPC Delivery and plays a critical role in contract oversight, process improvements, and risk mitigation.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in contract negotiation, drafting, and governance, with a deep understanding of contract lifecycle management.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Power industry, particularly in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Legal, Business, Finance, or Engineering) required.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess legal and financial risks in contracts.
  • Proven negotiation expertise, with precise contract language drafting skills and the ability to align legal terms with business strategies.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and analytical, with the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously and in a timely manner.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Diligent, proactive, and solutions-focused, with strong business judgment and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to manage high contract volumes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all Power Lifeline Sector contracts, ensuring timely and effective management from review through negotiation to execution.
  • Leads and manages workflow of all contract stages in collaboration with internal legal and sales teams. Reviews, revises, drafts, negotiates, and closes commercial contracts, including but not limited to master services agreements, professional services agreements, statements of work, licenses, RFP responses and proposals, non-disclosure agreements, technology service agreements, and supporting documents.
  • Provide strategic, business-oriented contract advice to internal stakeholders, ensuring agreements align with business objectives and risk management strategies from contract negotiations through project execution.
  • Monitor and manage the contracts database, ensuring accurate records, subcontractor updates, and accurate metadata.
  • Serve as the primary business liaison for contract negotiations, working closely with internal teams on deliverables, service scope, warranties, and commercial terms.
  • Performs appropriate legal and operational research to support proposal and contract development.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Accounting, Sales, Project Management, and Technical teams to ensure alignment and efficient decision-making.
  • In collaboration with Legal, develop and implement Power Lifeline Sector contract standards, defining required elements, standardized language, and exception criteria to streamline processes.
  • Monitor contract performance and compliance, proactively identifying risks, conflicts, and renewal opportunities.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements, leveraging industry best practices to enhance contract efficiency, oversight, and governance.
  • Ensure effective reporting and data tracking, using metrics to demonstrate contract function effectiveness and business impact.
  • Partner with internal and/or external counsel to resolve disputes, claims, and litigation matters when necessary.
  • Create and lead training initiatives for leadership and execution team members on best practices for understanding contract risks, best practices as a business partner during contract negotiation, executing project change orders, and managing claims risks.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • May include supervision and management for team of Contract Analysts and Contract Specialists.
