This role is ideal for a contracts-focused professional who enjoys precision, collaboration, and meaningful impact. As the Contracts and Agreements Specialist, you will play a key role in drafting and managing complex endowment and gift agreements, working closely with fundraising partners and the Planned Giving team to support donors who are making transformational commitments. Your expertise in contracts and attention to detail will help ensure agreements are thoughtfully structured, legally sound, and aligned with donor intent—directly advancing Purdue’s long-term philanthropic priorities while protecting the interests of all parties involved.

Requirements

• Ability to effectively communicate policies and procedures.
• Excellent office management skills including word processing, composing correspondence, and maintaining request management system.
• Exceptional attention to detail, content and context editing, and superior proofreading skills.
• Good judgment, effective communication, teamwork, customer service, diplomacy, persuasive ability, public relations, ability to maintain confidentiality, and the ability to inspire confidence and cooperation.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize work, meet deadlines and produce high quality work.
• Ability to interface effectively with a variety of audiences.
• Must exhibit creativity and initiative.
• Must be able to work occasional weekends and evenings.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule with up to 3 days per week in the office.
• Associates degree is preferred; relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
• Three years of experience as paralegal/legal secretary with an emphasis on the creation of contracts and agreements is preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in probate, estate planning or transactional practice is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Respond to requests to create endowment and gift agreements.
• Research and draft agreements in light of complex policies; establish and maintain contacts for the collection and exchange of agreements for review and execution.
• Coordinate the signing of agreements and the distribution of executed documents.
• Work closely with fundraising staff, donors and stakeholders within the Foundation and University to ensure agreements are effective and protect each party’s interest.
• Maintain historical endowment records and respond to requests for information.
• Under guidance of supervisor, periodically review request management system, and perform ad hoc, analyses on a wide variety of policies, programs and issues which are complex in nature as they relate to endowments and gift agreements.
• Under guidance of supervisor, coordinate implementation of changes to document management policies and procedures with cross-organizational departments related to the creation, execution, and tracking of gift agreements.
• Under guidance of supervisor, conduct post-implementation analysis to determine the need for further enhancements, finer distinctions and/or additional process/policy components for agreement workflows.
• Assist with other work-related tasks as assigned.
