About The Position

Lithium Americas is a North American resource and materials company focused on developing, building, and operating lithium deposits and chemical processing facilities. The company’s flagship asset, Thacker Pass, is located in Humboldt County in northern Nevada and is the world’s largest known measured lithium resource and reserve. We are committed to minimizing environmental impact, creating family-supporting jobs, and maximizing sustainable value for our stakeholders. We are seeking a Contract Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, issuing, and administering commercial contracts, service agreements, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), purchase agreements, and task orders that support operational, maintenance, and project activities across the site.This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization committed to innovation, sustainability, and leadership in the clean energy sector. The role is based at our Winnemucca office and reports to the Supply Chain Manager. Occasional travel to other LAC offices, project sites, vendor locations, or other may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 3–7+ years of experience in contract administration, commercial management, or procurement, preferably within mining, construction, or industrial environments.
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and administering service contracts and Master Service Agreements (MSAs).
  • Understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements related to contract execution.
  • High attention to detail with strong accuracy, organization, and version control skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to align and influence multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of commercial terms, contract structure, and risk allocation.
  • Ability to draft, review, and interpret scopes of work and contractual language.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, issue, and administer commercial contracts, service agreements, MSAs, supply agreements, scopes of work, and task orders.
  • Ensure contractual documents clearly define deliverables, service levels, pricing structures, risk allocation, safety requirements, and performance obligations.
  • Coordinate internal contract reviews with Legal, Business, EHS, Finance, and technical subject matter experts to ensure accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation.
  • Manage contract amendments, change orders, renewals, and extensions in accordance with Delegation of Authority and approval requirements.
  • Support negotiations related to contract terms, commercial conditions, rate sheets, and performance metrics.
  • Support Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program and KPI and metric input and reviews for suppliers.
  • Perform commercial evaluations and comparisons of service providers and contractors.
  • Maintain visibility and tracking of contract budgets, commitments, rates, and spending.
  • Ensure contractors meet all compliance requirements, including insurance, safety certifications, training, onboarding, and documentation.
  • Track and monitor contractor performance against contractual KPIs, deliverables, and service expectations.
  • Coordinate pre-job meetings, site orientation requirements, and required documentation submissions.
  • Support the resolution of contract disputes, performance issues, and non-conformances.
  • Maintain a centralized contract repository including executed agreements, revisions, obligations, and supporting documentation.
  • Track critical contract dates such as expirations, renewal windows, milestones, and notice requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement and contracting policies, internal controls, Delegation of Authority, and audit standards.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate contract records and evidence of controls.
  • Prepare contract activity reports, dashboards, and summaries for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Project teams to define scopes of work and service requirements.
  • Coordinate with Procurement to align contract terms with sourcing strategies and purchasing activities.
  • Partner with Finance and Accounts Payable to ensure correct rate application, invoice validation, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Builds and maintains trusted relationships across all teams while championing a culture that reflects and supports our Purpose, Vision, and Values
