About The Position

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITIES: The Employee is responsible for specific duties as assigned, e.g., Directly work with incarcerated populations through the detention center Serve on the multidisciplinary data focus group to identify community resources that support incarcerated individualism successful re-entry into the community. Partner with case manager in linking client to housing, treatment and social services that promote recovery and lead to functioning in the community to reduce overdose and recidivism. Use relevant personal stories to teach through experience. Same as a role model and mentor for clients and their families Encourage client and family voice and choice during development and implementation of plans. Support clients and their families by attending team meetings with team members upon request. Empower a client and family to have the confidence to be self-advocates. Help providers of other individuals who are working with a client's family understand the importance of integrating family in services and supports within a system Help clients and families enhance relationships with community partners. Display excellent written and oral communication skills. Recommended project performance improvement, as needed. Eam at least 6 hours of continuing education each year Assigned duties are completed within specified time frame. Supervisor review of Employee's documentation of assigned duties I completion dates Other duties as assigned by Appointing Authority

Requirements

  • HS or GED
  • Peer Support Specialist Certification with two (2) years in active recovery (this job does require a drug screening)
  • Current TB skin test indicating no evidence of communicable disease.
  • This position requires a clean drug screen prior to and randomly throughout.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Background checks conducted prior to hire.
