About The Position

Supervise the daily operation of all contract worksites to ensure work is completed as outlined in the site-specific contract. Assist the Business Services Department Director with: Ensuring staff meet contract obligations and maintain/clean sites to the state's satisfaction. Attending state and Maryland Works site inspections as assigned. Ensuring Blind Industries and Services (BISM) products are available at each worksite and training staff on their use. Providing assistance and oversight in emergency situations. Attending team meetings and supporting transitions during hospitalization/commitment. Training Job Coaches and Janitorial Crew Supervisors on Person-Centered Plans, as applicable. Reinforcing adaptive behaviors and intervening in challenging behaviors using approved interventions. Implementing procedures to support all applicable policies, program guidelines, and regulations. Attending, participating in, and conducting in-service training as required. Ensuring smooth operations of contracts and supported employment activities. Directly supervise Janitorial Crew Supervisors. Provide reinforcement of positive work performance; deliver training, assistance, and instruction as needed; apply disciplinary procedures when necessary. Observe program and work areas daily to ensure staff implement career development goals and supplemental procedures specified in each client's Person-Centered and Behavior Plans. Document staff and individual training needs, appropriateness of materials and equipment, program effectiveness, staff interaction, data collection, safety issues, and provide immediate follow-up. Meet one-on-one with each person in the program at least monthly to discuss progress, concerns, and job-related topics. Complete documentation and reporting of incidents per Agency policy and attend Incident Review Committee meetings. Monitor documentation of goal plans and services to ensure compliance with established protocols. Ensure staff are informed of Agency Policies and complete all required training within 90 days of hire. Ensure work areas meet safety and environmental codes, including documentation of fire drills and maintenance checks. Assist BSD Director with fiscal management of Career Development Program (CDP) work areas, including review of receipts and documentation for staff and individuals. Ensure compliance with Department of Labor Standards, including time studies and pay rate calculations at least semi-annually. Attend meetings as directed by the BSD Director. Arrange adequate staff coverage and fill in as needed. Complete semi-annual evaluations of BSD Job Coaches. Coordinate transportation of persons served from residential to work sites. Respond to phone calls addressing employee or client issues before and after work hours, including weekends. Act as first point of contact for staff in emergency situations during weekdays and after hours. Assume on-call duties during scheduled weekend hours. Perform other related duties as assigned by the BSD Director

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of related supervisory experience.
  • Five (5) years of equivalent experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and two (2) years of related supervisory experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience managing multiple worksites or contracts.
  • Knowledge of DDA regulations, Person-Centered Planning, and Behavior Support Plans.
  • Familiarity with Maryland Works and Blind Industries and Services (BISM) products.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in documentation, compliance monitoring, and incident reporting.
  • Ability to coordinate transportation and scheduling for multiple locations.
  • Experience with fiscal oversight and Department of Labor standards for supported employment.
  • Crisis management and emergency response experience.
