About The Position

Contract Specialist with expertise in government contracting - develops, reviews, negotiates, and manages contractual agreements, overseeing the entire contract lifecycle from drafting and bidding to execution, compliance, and closeout, ensuring alignment with legal requirements and organizational goals for procurement of goods, services, or construction. Key duties involve preparing solicitations (RFPs, RFQs), analyzing bids, managing risk, tracking renewals, and ensuring adherence to regulations, often collaborating with legal, finance, and project teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in contract and project management
  • Demonstrated understanding of contract regulations and/or contract law
  • Demonstrated understanding of project management methodologies
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and contracts simultaneously
  • Proficiency with contract management software and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Trello) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Financial acumen and risk management capabilities
  • Bachelors degree in business administration or related field (Masters preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) preferred
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex situations and identify solutions
  • Experience in managing both client-facing and internal contracts
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a focus on detail

Responsibilities

  • Contract Drafting & Review: Prepare, review, and edit contracts, task orders, and related documents, ensuring legal soundness and clarity.
  • Procurement Support: Facilitate bidding processes (RFPs, IFBs), assemble bid packages, and evaluate proposals.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors, clients, and partners.
  • Lifecycle Management: Administer contracts, track performance, manage amendments, renewals, and closeouts.
  • Compliance & Risk: Ensure all contracts meet legal, insurance, and regulatory standards; identify and mitigate risks.
  • Documentation: Maintain contract logs, filing systems, and version control.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with project managers, legal, and management to fulfill obligations and resolve issues.
