Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business, law, finance, or management, with experience in contract management.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, regulations, and industry standards
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in managed care contracting, provider re-imbursement, fee-scheduling, prior experience in Healthplan and healthcare.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Certifications like Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) or Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) can be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares various types of contracts, including IFBs (Inquiries for Bids), RFQs (Requests for Quotations), RFPs (Requests for Proposals), and other contractual agreements.
  • Negotiates terms, conditions, and pricing with vendors, suppliers, and other parties.
  • Ensures contracts are clear, accurate, and compliant with relevant regulations and policies.
  • Monitors contract performance, including deliverables, timelines, and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Manages contract amendments, extensions, and terminations.
  • Maintains accurate records of contracts and related documentation.
  • Identifies potential risks associated with contracts.
  • Develops and implements risk mitigation strategies.
  • May be involved in contract claims and disputes.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • May work with legal counsel on complex legal issues related to contracts.
  • Keeps up to date with changes in laws and regulations that impact contracts.
  • Works with internal teams, such as procurement, legal, and project management, to ensure contract needs are met.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with vendors and other external parties.
  • Provides contract support and training to staff.
