About The Position

Under minimal supervision, responsible for assisting with contract management in accordance with applicable regent's rules and state regulations. Assists with the oversight and preparation of contract fulfillment requirements.

Requirements

  • Fundamental knowledge with project/program management, contract negotiation, purchasing and full-cycle procurement processes.
  • Ability to analyze and cultivate best alternative to negotiate by building rapport, actively listening and asking good questions in searching for smart trade-offs.
  • Detail oriented with meticulous planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and support operational initiatives to meet or exceed service standards and expectations in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Proven ability to work across departments, quickly establishing rapport and cooperation with academic and administrative personnel.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person and in writing with internal/external contacts concerning contracting, purchasing, and all issues related to creating, enforcing, and performing contracts.
  • Ability to analyze contracts to identify associated risks per contract type.
  • Bachelor's Degree degree or related/equivalent experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and prepares contract documents from the initial stages through execution.
  • Ensures Contracts have State required legal clauses and/or revisions.
  • Reviews, negotiates, drafts, revises, and amends contracts to ensure compliance with University Rules, including the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System and the rules and policies of The University of Texas System.
  • Participates in the development and fulfillment of contract requirements.
  • Examines estimates of material, equipment, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules.
  • Reviews bid responses from other firms for conformity to contract requirements and determines acceptable bids.
  • Negotiates contracts and amendments with customer or bidder.
  • Coordinates work of various departments, and acts as liaison between Institution and subcontractors to implement fulfillment of contracts.
  • Performs Contract Monitoring throughout the lifetime of the contract including Renewals, Amendments, and Terminations.
  • Performs Contract Closeout at the end of the contract.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
