Contract Administrator / Specialist (On-site) Lifesteps is a non-profit human services organization serving Western Pennsylvania for over 100 years. Position Summary: The Contract Administrator/Specialist manages all phases of contracts, from drafting and negotiation, to administration and closeout, ensuring compliance with regulations and protecting the interests of the Organization. The Contract Administrator/Specialist works with various stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure contracts are fair, legally sound, and effectively executed.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Political Science, English, Economics, Paralegal Studies or related field
  • Possess strong negotiation skills and the ability to effectively advocate for the organization's needs, reaching favorable outcomes
  • Analytical abilities to understand complex legal and financial documents
  • Communication skills to clearly conveying information to various stakeholders
  • Possess a firm understanding contract law and relevant regulations
  • The ability to ensure accuracy and thoroughness in all contract-related tasks
  • The ability to managing multiple contracts and deadlines effectively
  • The ability to identifying and resolve contract-related issues
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Current driver’s license and the ability to travel for business utilizing personal vehicle

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, English, Economics, Legal Studies or a related field
  • Masters of Law (LL.M. or ML)
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.)

Responsibilities

  • Contract Drafting and Review: Creating clear and legally sound contract documents, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs), amendments , and agreements .
  • Negotiation: Representing the organization's interests during contract negotiations with vendors, contractors, and other parties.
  • Compliance: Ensuring contracts adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Contract Administration: Managing the contract lifecycle, including monitoring performance, processing payments, and handling amendments.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with contracts.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborating with various departments and external parties to ensure smooth contract execution.
  • Dispute Resolution: Assisting in resolving contract-related disputes and issues.
  • Insurance Renewals: Manages the Organization’s Insurance renewal process.
