About The Position

As a Contract Manager, located in Minneapolis, MN, San Francisco, CA, or Birmingham, AL, you will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of commercial contracts across our business and partnering with internal Shipt teams to negotiate cross-functional contracts with Shipt vendors. Reporting to the Director, Regulatory and Commercial, you will ensure contract terms mitigate risk, meet business needs as well as price and performance requirements, and comply with applicable laws and regulations. While no two days are the same, you will draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including master service agreements (MSAs), non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and preferred vendor terms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to ensure contracts reflect business goals while appropriately managing legal and regulatory risks. You will likewise coordinate with commercial attorneys to identify and mitigate contractual risks, escalating issues for support appropriately and efficiently. You will also improve contract turnaround times to support a fast-paced business. Additionally, you will analyze contract terms to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure contracts and relevant contract data are entered into Shipt’s contract management platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, though J.D.'s will be considered
  • 5+ years of experience in contract management, with an emphasis on contract review and negotiations
  • Strong understanding of commercial contract law and risk assessment
  • Extensive experience independently revising and negotiating contract language for routine commercial contracts, and maintain attention to detail while managing multiple negotiations at the same time
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams, including procurement
  • Effectively communicate business critical information including complex contract terms, in a clear and concise manner to both internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities, while maintaining high standards and responsiveness under pressure
  • Experience managing CLM systems and integrations
