About The Position

In this position, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Genentech’s cross-portfolio, cross-segment distribution, access, and pricing contracts, as well as participating in or leading high impact strategies and contracting efforts. This work includes effectively participating in and leading cross-functional account and segment strategy development and execution teams in a dynamic environment, establishing clear and effective communication across the organization, building collaborative relationships with individual contributors and leaders within our Customer Engagement (CE): our customer-facing teams [regional ecosystem Healthcare Directors (HDs) and Healthcare Executive Directors (HEDs), the National Supply & Care Delivery team (NSCD), and the National Access Decisions team(NAD)]; Legal; Access and External Affairs (AEA) (CCM’s parent organization); Marketing; Pricing, Contracts, and Distribution (PCD) team; Account Strategy and Negotiation (AS&N) team; and Squads, to develop, gain approval of, and execute contracts for overall strategic, financial and legal viability. This work requires managed care, pricing, contracting, and distribution expertise, or a demonstrable ability to learn complex market and portfolio dynamics on the job. Specifically, you will be accountable for consistently and effectively: Partnering with and influencing Customer Engagement teams (ecosystems, NSCD, and NAD), Legal, AEA, Brand, Marketing, PCD, and AS&N to inform and/or drive sound cross-portfolio, cross-segment contracting, distribution, and business related decisions; Providing Managed Care Contracts (MCC) expertise to ecosystem, NSCD, and NAD account teams to drive out-of-strategy contracting assessments for high priority / high impact products and segments; Creating unique contract solutions autonomously in alignment with access, distribution and pricing strategies, or develops out-of-strategy solutions in close partnership with ecosystems (HEDs/HDs), NSCD & NAD account teams, Legal, AEA, PCD, AS&N, Brand, and Access POCs; Autonomously optimizing managed care contracts, supports the execution of access, distribution and pricing strategies, and collaborates with account teams (ecosystem, NSCD, and NAD) to recommend and assume accountability for no-contract decisions when appropriate; Possessing a deep understanding of relevant access, distribution and pricing strategies; Upskill Access and Contracting knowledge across ecosystems (with dissolution of MCCO, deep Access and Contracting expertise consolidated in MCC); Monitoring, evaluating and refining contract language and performance; Providing strategic leadership and thought partnership when considering engagement with an account. Partners with ecosystems (HEDs/HDs), NSCD & NAD account teams, Legal, AEA, Brand, Marketing, PCD and AS&N to plan the customer engagement strategy and messaging, contract effectiveness, and contract execution; Performs a wide range of strategic and tactical activities to achieve seamless, well integrated pricing, contracting, and distribution strategy implementation; Designs and delivers excellent end-to-end customer experiences in partnership with ecosystems (HEDs/HDs), NSCD & NAD account teams, AEA, Marketing, PCD and AS&N

Requirements

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree
  • You have 3 or more years previous work experience in contract drafting experience in managed care, biotech, or other similar industry
  • Experience in, or demonstrated ability to learn, contracting, building trusted customer relationships, healthcare/managed care
  • Demonstrable knowledge of, or aptitude to learn, current policies and guidelines that affect contracts, pricing, rebates etc. in the managed care environment
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding objectives & goals

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, JD or other related graduate-level degree is a plus
  • Previous contract drafting and negotiation experience or related experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech or related industry is preferred

Responsibilities
