Contract Lab Tech duties will include and not be limited to: Test production samples of Paint and Preformed Thermoplastic; Reporting any problems to Chemist, Senior Technician, and Product Technology Manager ASAP. Generate critical QC data to support Waterborne Traffic Marking Paint production and plant development / process improvement efforts at our Marion, IN location Conduct Quality Control testing on raw materials and finished goods for quality within established tolerances for release to customers Assist R&D in validating formulas and scaleup to production as needed Attention to detail, critical thinking and recording documentation as well as certifying results Responsible for lab equipment integrity and maintenance for minimal interruptions in capability. Focus on quality with compliance to state specifications and internal tolerances using established testing protocols Complete QC Sheets, create certificates of analysis, and update QC Logs within 24 hours of production Assist with pretest sampling and paperwork for batch approval Assist Sr. Technicians, Chemists, and Production as required with project and R&D work Maintain Lab equipment, including calibration checks, and work in a safe and organized manner Conduct all work duties according to ISO QMS and contribute to ISO Continual Improvement Promote and champion area safety activities. Ensure environmental compliance. Work closely with scheduling, quality and shipping to ensure quality product and on-time delivery Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree in a science-based discipline is preferred but not necessary for the right candidate
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience
  • Capable of precisely calibrating and using lab test equipment
  • Ability to contribute to small-scale project data and reporting
  • High standards for data accuracy and reporting within internal systems
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft software
  • Attention to detail with testing and documenting results
  • Ability to efficiently organize tasks
  • Must be dependable and show initiative
  • Must report and test in a timely fashion
  • Strong communication skills regarding findings and out of specification results, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work respectfully and effectively within a diverse team including a small group of laboratory peers and a larger group of production and managers
  • High standards for working safely, including proper storage, labeling, and use of chemicals, compliance with safe work practices and policies, and housekeeping
  • This role is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. The successful candidate must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship to work in the US.
