About The Position

The Contractor Account Manager is responsible for achieving desired sales results in their assigned region. Working with the regional Rain Bird team, the successful candidate will quickly achieve exceptional sales and share growth by influencing irrigation contractors’ buying habits through our network of distributor partners.

Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. Degree.
  • 3 + years of progressive outside sales experience using a consultative sales approach that demonstrates a strong competitive spirit and will to win.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong aptitude for general business practices.
  • Highly self-motivated and results-driven, with a proactive approach to responsibilities.
  • Experience taking ownership of tasks while collaborating effectively within a team and thriving with minimal supervision.
  • Must be proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications, with the ability to leverage technology to enhance productivity.
  • Must be willing to travel 20% including overnight travel

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • 5 + years of outside sales experience
  • MBA or graduate degree.
  • Irrigation design and contractor experience.
  • Construction project management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Grow sales faster than the market growth rate and achieve sales objectives.
  • Analyze the market as it relates to market share, penetration, and growth opportunities and develop an annual strategic plan to reach sales targets and corporate objectives.
  • Successfully develop and implement local and regional programs to promote Rain Bird turf products.
  • Collaborate, develop and execute sales and promotional efforts with the Distributor Manager, Contractor Account Managers, Area Specification Managers and key distributors to grow Rain Bird sales with top professional irrigation contractor targets.
  • Develop and maintain a project database and secure Rain Bird installations at strategic, high-profile sites.
  • Strive to differentiate Rain Bird from its competitors by providing superior customer service, high visibility, and aggressive call coverage cycle.
  • Assist the Sales Manager and Product Managers in determining market needs.
  • Educate and influence the irrigation contractor on the value of Rain Bird’s turf products, their application, and key benefits as it relates to product preference through product demonstration and presentation.
  • Collaborate with teammates in and development of strategic contractor events, tradeshows, and regional events.
  • This position requires approximately 20% overnight travel.
