Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, or Business Administration (related technical discipline may be considered).
  • 4+ years of direct experience with requisites in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated problem solver with direct experience coaching, teaching, and applying Quality management systems and problem-solving techniques
  • Skilled in quality tools such as PDCA, FMEA, control plans, etc required.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, achieving certifications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Ability to manage time and work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and data-driven.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Champion all aspects of personal and Plant Safety. Instill a sense of self-responsibility for safety among associates.
  • Ensure the safety of the associates, safe use of equipment and PPE, and housekeeping.
  • Promote a customer-centered culture at the plant.
  • Promote a culture of relentless pursuit of continuous improvement and lean practices, focused and data-based.
  • Utilize MDI and the process confirmation system to drive quality improvement.
  • Highly engaged in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Evaluate current processes to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles to optimize operations and ensure quality standards are maintained throughout all stages of production.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate process changes and improvements, ensuring buy-in from all levels of the organization.
  • Educate staff on new procedures and continuous improvement methodologies, fostering a culture of ongoing development and efficiency.
  • Gather and analyze data to support decision-making and measure the impact of improvement initiatives
  • Optimize the production process to ensure quality is built in, not inspected in.
  • Support quality initiatives and corrective actions to drive a culture that supports our Quality Statement and helps employees learn and improve.
  • Supports the quality manager in improvement efforts to establish and enforce an effective Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Serve as the plant’s SME (subject matter expert) for the quality data collection system.
  • Develop quality control plans (QCP) by identifying critical control points and implementing preventive measures or test methods, understanding machine or material process limits, monitoring production inspection results, and verifying or updating quality procedures.
  • Monitors the performance of the Quality Management System through data analysis and adherence to standards.
  • Works with the quality manager to achieve overall financial objectives, reduce customer credits by making fiscally responsible business decisions, and initiate corrective actions to prevent systemic issues from occurring.
