Duration: 6 months Start Date: June 15th, 2026 (open to part-time and full-time) Pay: $18-20/hr. Department: Continuous Improvement Essential Duties and Responsibilities   Project Details:   We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Co-Op intern to join the Continuous Improvement Team this summer and fall. The ideal candidate will gain hands-on experience while supporting process improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment. The intern will be assigned to specific production process and will deliver data-driven process improvement recommendations through direct observation, analysis, and collaboration with operations teams. This structured 6-month program provides practical exposure to manufacturing operations, continuous improvement methodologies, and cross-functional teamwork. High-performing co-op interns may be considered for full-time employment opportunities upon successful completion of the program. Observe assigned manufacturing process(es) to understand workflows, constraints, and performance drivers. Collect and analyze operational data related to efficiency, quality, downtime, or waste. Identify improvement opportunities and support root cause analysis activities. Partner with operators, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to understand current practices. Develop and present process improvement recommendations supported by data. Assist with implementation or validation of approved improvements where applicable. Document process maps, standard work, or project findings.

Requirements

• Attending a four-year college or university to attain a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; or already awarded bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
• Clear written communication and documentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; data analysis skills preferred.
• Interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional plant teams.
• Ability to observe processes and translate them into step-by-step instructions.
• Continuous improvement or problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
• Ability to make effective presentations on complex topics to plant management and other stakeholders.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
