Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least one year of professional experience supporting adult learners in an educational setting.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and project coordination abilities.
  • Proficiency with technology and a willingness to learn new systems to support student success.
  • High level of personal integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Advise students on degree requirements and career goals as they relate to academic pathways.
  • Implement strategies to support student persistence and retention.
  • Document all relevant student communication in the university’s CRM.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records, ensuring compliance with university policies and regulations.
  • Analyze student data to identify trends and areas for improvement and develop action plans accordingly.
  • Communicate with students about credit for prior learning opportunities.
  • Review and evaluate applications for admission in collaboration with admissions representatives.
  • Maintain regular correspondence with students including messaging regarding book distributions, deadlines for withdrawals, billing timelines, course registration, upcoming breaks, class schedules, etc.
  • Collaborate with offices around campus to support students including, but not limited to the Library, the Center for Student Success, the Center for Intercultural Student Development, the Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid, and Financial Services.
  • Review and evaluate applications for admission in collaboration with admissions representatives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support student persistence and retention.
  • Document all relevant student communication in the university’s CRM.
  • Complete WayForward advising appointments with Wayfinder students to help them navigate their next steps.
  • Assist with book and supply purchasing and distribution in collaboration with the Director of Continuing Studies.
  • Coordinate special events that foster belonging and community among adult learners, including Wayfinder and Degree Completion orientation sessions, graduation ceremony planning, etc.
  • Support course scheduling and room assignments in consultation with the Director and the registrar’s office.
  • Create digital and print marketing and communication in consultation with Calvin's Marketing and Communications and the Director of Continuing Studies.
