About The Position

As a continuous improvement engineer, the candidate will be responsible to bring a measurable improvement to multiple departmental benchmark targets, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). Candidate must be a self-motivated individual willing to take the initiative to continuously improve operations. He/she must possess the ability to deal with complex problems and be willing to work flexible hours/shift as projects require.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Experience with processing equipment, throughput, and comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, enabling effective design and production.
  • In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies, fostering operational efficiency and waste reduction.
  • A strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, effective project planning in terms of resources, strategies, cost, and time, with ability to meet project timelines
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are complex
  • Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required
  • Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project
  • Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions
  • Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data analysis and statistical process control (SPC), enabling informed decision-making and process optimization.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, demonstrating the ability to thrive in fast-paced settings. Experience with reliability and maintainability of processing equipment, standalone availability, and throughput.
  • Battery manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement projects to provide technical solutions to technical problems
  • Identify, scope, and justify automation and digital-enablement opportunities.
  • Lead structured problem solving (PDCA, DMAIC, A3, 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa) to eliminate waste and drive root-cause resolution.
  • Maintain communication with partners outside of the work group including safety, quality, production, and maintenance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution. Providing technical direction to and oversight of strategic suppliers
  • Maintain and meet project budgets/forecasts and drive cost reduction initiatives.
  • Develop CI roadmaps and tracking to ensure prioritization, benefit validation, and long-term sustainment
  • Ensure improvements are standardized, replicated across similar processes, and reflected in PFMEAs, control plans, and standardized work
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective/preventive actions
  • Support KPI governance (SPQRCE metrics, OEE, scrap, downtime) and ensure accurate data visibility for decision-making
  • Drive 6S, visual controls, and workplace organization improvements
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in manufacturing engineering.
