About The Position

American Bridge 21st Century, a progressive research and communications organization dedicated to holding Republicans accountable for their words and actions, is hiring a Content Writer to join our Communications team for the 2026 election cycle. This position is based in our Washington, DC office. This position will help tell allies, donors, and partners the story of our impact through writing speeches, documents, talking points, decks, op-eds, newsletters, and more. This position will also work closely with American Bridge’s senior leadership team to draft speeches and talking points for events and interviews. This role requires the capacity to work independently and routinely make discretionary decisions on significant aspects of American Bridge’s communications approach and strategy.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in campaigns or in a comparable political environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with high-level principals
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects at once and complete them in a timely manner.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
  • Works well under pressure and on deadline in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passionate about earned media as a mechanism for winning elections, arguments, and power.

Responsibilities

  • Draft narrative documents, op-eds, talking points, decks, speeches, email communications, and statements for American Bridge senior leadership.
  • Assist in copy editing the public-facing communications and websites
  • Send message guidance to American Bridge senior leadership.
  • Maintain reports highlighting successes and important organizational metrics.
  • Assist in the drafting of strategic planning documents.
  • Compile and distribute weekly updates on American Bridge’s efforts for senior leadership.
  • Assist the American Bridge press team in compiling briefing memos for local and national press interviews.
  • Other duties as assigned.
