About The Position

The Content Transformation & Immersive Experiences, Associate Director will serve as the Executive Producer's chief operational deputy and creative partner in bringing the vision for Content Transformation and Immersive Experiences to life. This hands-on, project-management-focused role will support the day-to-day execution and delivery of multi-modal activations across all channels, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest creative standards. This role requires a proven producer and project manager with expertise across a diverse media landscape, including video, audio, live events, theatrical production, museum partnerships, and digital adaptation. The Associate Director will be critical in translating strategic roadmaps into actionable production plans and managing both internal teams and external partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Req
  • 10-15 years 10+ years of experience in a hands-on project management, producer, and/or creative operations role within a media, content production, or large non-profit organization.
  • Deep, demonstrated expertise in managing complex production cycles across several of the following areas: video production, podcast/audio, theatrical production, large-scale event production, museum/exhibit design, nonprofit programs or digital media adaptation.
  • Proven ability to manage and finesse small budgets to multi-million dollar projects and external vendor relationships (agencies, production companies, institutional partnerships).
  • Exceptional organizational skills, a high degree of comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to pivot between strategic thinking and tactical execution.
  • Strong understanding of digital rights management, content clearance, and compliance best practices.
  • A passion for history, technology, and leveraging storytelling to engage global audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Support creative development and supervise production execution for greenlit projects, serving as the central point of contact for internal stakeholders, agencies, vendors and co-producers.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets for media adaptations, digital storytelling, exhibits, and live experiences of IEEE’s owned content.
  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end production process for video, audio, exhibits and non-profit/educational media projects, ensuring creative vision aligns with strategic goals.
  • Monitor project progress, manage external and internal vendors, review contracts and implement quality control checks across all deliverables, reporting key metrics and status updates directly to the Executive Producer.
  • Partner with the Executive Producer to strategize audience outreach and engagement initiatives for projects.
  • Establish scalable project lifecycle processes and systems to transform conceptual ideas into fully realized productions, ensuring structural integrity, financial accountability, and stakeholder alignment at every stage.
  • Drive project growth by strategically identifying and capitalizing on internal funding mechanisms to resource prospective and approved initiatives.
  • Support strategies and implementation of multimedia content and live experience activations that showcase milestones, awards and significant IEEE Achievements.
  • Translate the Executive Producer’s creative briefs and vision into detailed production specifications and deliverable requirements for internal and external teams.
  • Assist in content curation and prioritization efforts, working closely with the Executive Producer, IEEE History Center and subject matter experts to identify and prepare assets content for live and digital experiences.
  • Maintain a clear, unified voice and presentation across all media, ensuring authenticity in storytelling and alignment with the IEEE brand.
  • Oversee and manage development pipeline projects in partnership with the Executive Producer and the IEEE History Center and Volunteer Committees.
  • Implement processes across IT, Marketing and other IEEE teams that align messaging, tools and processes around produced content and live activations.
  • Operationalize external partnership deals by managing logistics, content delivery, and creative collaboration with museums, media distributors, broadcasters, and cultural institutions.
  • Support the Executive Producer in engaging and managing specialized production agencies and houses, drafting detailed scopes of work, and overseeing their performance.
  • Maintain a database of distributors, broadcasters and media platforms that align with IEEE’s content.
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with external partners to co-create content and experiences.
  • Serve as the IEEE production liaison for exhibit programs and live activations, coordinating installation, technical requirements, and content deployment with venues and event organizers.
  • Partner with the Executive Producer to work with historians, editors, and content producers on new programs and experiences.
  • Support production of launches, activations, panels, and live experiences.
  • Champion the practical integration of emerging technologies (AR/VR, CGI, AI tools) into production workflows of creative activations.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and continuously evaluate their application to amplify IEEE’s content reach and impact.
  • Research competitor events and activations to understand creative uses of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) installations as well as holographic displays and digital event platforms.
  • Value and maintain authenticity in storytelling.
