The Content Operations Manager owns the governance, lifecycle, and operational use of marketing content and digital assets across enterprise content management platforms. This role ensures that marketing teams can reliably find, reuse, and activate approved content while adhering to brand standards and internal compliance requirements related to marketing content usage. This position is a content management and governance role, not a content creation role. It partners closely with Brand, Creative, Legal/Compliance, Channel Owners, and Marketing Technology teams to establish standards, reduce operational risk, and improve speed to market through effective use of CMS, DAM, and related workflow tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Progressive experience in content operations, DAM, CMS, or marketing operations roles.
  • Enterprise CMS/DAM administration experience.
  • Strong metadata, taxonomy, and workflow design expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain content governance standards, including content lifecycle stages, naming conventions, version control, approval workflows, and retention practices.
  • Establish decision rights and operating rhythms for content and asset changes.
  • Ensure usage rights, consent requirements, and brand approvals are embedded within workflows.
  • Own metadata strategy and taxonomy standards to support content findability and reuse.
  • Serve as the business owner for CMS and DAM platforms.
  • Design and optimize end-to-end workflows.
  • Define KPIs and conduct audits to ensure governance compliance.
