About The Position

Purpose Brands — the parent company of Anytime Fitness, Waxing The City, Basecamp Fitness, Orangetheory and The Bar Method — is seeking a strategic Content Marketing Writer to join our Brand Lab content team. At Purpose Brands, we offer a fast-paced, creative environment fueled by our collective purpose to improve the self-esteem of the world through our fitness and wellness focused brands. As the Content Marketing Writer, you will be responsible for producing strategic, high-quality, high-volume content for Anytime Fitness and Orangetheory Fitness across their digital channels to support the entire brand marketing ecosystem. This will include supporting across omnichannel storytelling, SEO growth, campaign development, social content, CRM initiatives, and performance marketing efforts. This is a strategic individual contributor role focused on writing excellence, AI-enabled efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration. Reporting directly to the Director, Content Strategy, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening Brand Lab’s centralized content capability — ensuring clarity, consistency, credibility, and scale across all brands. This role bridges strategy and execution. You will not just write — you will help build the modern systems that power how we produce content.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional writing experience in brand, agency, editorial, or content marketing environments.
  • Portfolio demonstrating strength in both short-form and long-form writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage volume independently while maintaining quality and clarity.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing fundamentals, including SEO best practices.
  • Experience working with AI tools as part of a structured content workflow.
  • Comfort collaborating with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts.
  • Strong editing instincts, structural thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Science-based degree a plus.
  • Experience in fitness, wellness, nutrition, or consumer health brands strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Write and produce high-quality content across formats and channels, including: SEO-informed blog articles and evergreen content Educational explainers and health-focused articles Social captions and paid social variations Email and CRM copy Landing pages and campaign messaging Scripts and short-form video copy Press release drafts and edits (as needed in collaboration with PR) Internal guides and content playbooks
  • Build content efficiently and at scale: Develop outlines and briefs independently Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, Jasper, Writer.com, etc.) as a core workflow Generate variations quickly for performance testing Repurpose long-form into short-form and vice versa Maintain tone, clarity, and brand voice across high-volume output
  • Translate complex ideas into useful, credible content: Partner with Fitness Design teams and scientific advisors Interpret and simplify research responsibly Apply SEO direction without sacrificing readability Balance brand storytelling with evidence-based credibility
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work daily with Content, Creative, Social, and Digital Marketing teams Support campaign and product launch copy needs Contribute to editorial standards and brand voice evolution Inform decisions around content technology and workflow optimization
  • Monitor trends and innovation: Stay informed on fitness, wellness, and cultural trends Identify opportunities to improve clarity, engagement, and impact Support Brand Lab’s evolution toward a modern content production engine
