About The Position

University Communications merges strategy with creativity to develop content and experiences that communicate CMU's We Do brand and value. As part of the integrated marketing team, the content marketing writer creates, writes and edits branded copy for a variety of audiences across print and digital channels including email, web, print, social media, texting campaigns and advertisements. Using the appropriate brand voice and tone based on audience, channel and marketing strategy, the writer shapes CMU's brand narrative to engage readers and inspire them to take action - to visit CMU, further explore the university's web presence, request information, apply for admission and enroll. In addition to developing content, a primary responsibility of this position is to engage the campus community in brand building and brand advocacy. This will include assisting in brand trainings and being a brand resource for content producers across campus. This position reports to the Associate Director of Integrated Marketing and collaborates with graphic designers, communications coordinators, college marketing coordinators, and other University offices as needed. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver branded content on deadline in a fast-paced environment.
