About The Position

Are you an exceptional communicator who loves both editing scientific content and improving how that content is visually conveyed? Does improving both the language of medical education and its creative presentation through slides, visuals, and graphics excite you? If so, the Content Design Editor role at Global Learning Collaborative (GLC) could be the perfect fit. This position blends scientific editing with content design by taking completed content from the Scientific Affairs team and elevating how it is communicated visually through simplified visuals, more engaging slide storyboards, and learner-centered presentation. You’ll collaborate closely with Scientific Affairs, Creative Leads, Production, and Editorial colleagues to refine content so it is scientifically accurate, visually intuitive, and easy for healthcare professionals to absorb. This role is ideal for someone who brings the rigor of an editor and the instincts of a communicator who can take existing material, simplify complexity, enhance visual clarity, and strengthen the overall learner experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or equivalent experience in a scientific, communications, or related field
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong editorial judgment with impeccable attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify complex scientific information
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; comfort with AMA style
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
  • Be available for minimal travel and to work extended hours as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience reviewing or shaping slide-based scientific content
  • Comfort with Canva, BioRender, or similar tools (or willingness and ability to learn quickly)
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback around visual communication
  • Experience in medical communications, CME, scientific storytelling, or instructional design
  • Ability to identify visual or narrative inconsistencies and suggest improvements

Responsibilities

  • Timely completion of all editorial tasks to meet publishing timelines
  • Proofreading, fact-checking, copywriting/copyediting, reference formatting, and PowerPoint deck reviews for all phases of our range of deliverables
  • Keeping up with evolving standards of journalistic, academic, technical, and inclusive language
  • Providing editorial process and style updates to team members
  • Identifying ways to improve our processes, products, and people
  • Proactively seeking opportunities to better engage and inform target audiences
  • Collaborate with Scientific Affairs, project management, and production teams to support content development and QC
  • Shaping and maintaining a consistent voice and tone for all continuing medical education content across multimedia and interactive learning formats
  • Review preliminary slide storyboards created by the Scientific Affairs team and identify opportunities to strengthen narrative clarity and visual flow
  • Provide strategic recommendations to improve how scientific concepts are presented visually (eg, simplifying complex figures, rethinking bullet structures)
  • Suggest when text should be adjusted to incorporate a visual, such as: Icons Simple graphics Callouts Stepwise visuals
  • Work in Canva, BioRender, and similar tools to refine slide layouts, enhance visual clarity, and ensure consistency across content
  • Suggest simple animation approaches (eg, reveals, sequencing, emphasis cues) that help bring the story to life and support learner comprehension, in collaboration with Creative Leads and Production
  • Partner closely with Creative Leads and Production to ensure smooth translation of narrative and visual concepts into polished deliverables
  • Ensure that storytelling via slides and graphics aligns with high educational and scientific accuracy standards
  • Work collaboratively and respectfully with Scientific Affairs, Production, Creative Leads, and cross-functional partners to maintain quality and consistency
  • Help shape and evolve the content design function within the Editorial Department
  • Contribute to improving editorial processes as the company integrates more AI-assisted workflows
  • Support new program formats as the team and company evolve
