About The Position

Perma-Pipe in Hebron, OH is looking for experienced Containment Casing Welders The Containment Casing Welder is responsible for performing intermediate-level welding and fabrication work in a fast-[aced manufacturing environment. This role requires hands-on experience with MIG (GMAW) welding, pipe fabrication techniques, and a strong commitment to quality and safety. The ideal candidate can work with limited supervision and contribute to production efficiency while maintaining high workmanship standards. The role is situated in Hebron, OH and is not a remote or hybrid position. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1–3 years of pipe welding or fabrication experience (or equivalent training).
  • Ability to pass internal 5 psi Air Testable Containment welding certification (5G preferred).
  • Proficiency in MIG (GMAW) welding and pipe fabrication fundamentals.
  • Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings.
  • Experience operating fabrication tools (grinders, saws, material handling equipment).
  • Ability to work independently and in physically demanding conditions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing and walking during shifts.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and reaching.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated work areas.
  • Maintain welding positions for extended periods (overhead, vertical, horizontal).
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precision work.
  • Visual acuity to inspect welds and identify defects.
  • Ability to work safely in environments with heat, fumes, sparks, and heavy machinery while wearing PPE.
  • Willingness to work extended shifts or overtime as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior welding certifications or vocational training are preferred.
  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG (GMAW) welding on carbon steel containment and pipe systems.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Prepare materials and joints, including grinding, beveling, fitting, and tack welding.
  • Perform cutting, grinding, and finishing of welded assemblies.
  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld maps, and pipe isometric drawings.
  • Apply knowledge of weld symbols and measurements to ensure accuracy.
  • Align fabrication work with specifications and production requirements.
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with company quality standards.
  • Identify and correct weld defects as needed.
  • Maintain accurate work documentation and support weld tracking processes.
  • Follow all shop safety practices and company policies.
  • Safely use and maintain welding and fabrication equipment.
  • Ensure consistent use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in mentoring entry-level welders when needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve workflow and productivity.
