Requirements

High school diploma or GED certificate
Completion of a contact lens, optician or ophthalmic assistant or technician program strongly preferred (COA or COT)
Experience working as a contact lens technician, optician, ophthalmic technician or scribe is preferred
Experience with EMR tools a plus
Proficient with MS Office tools (outlook, excel, word)

Responsibilities

Coordinate the ordering and maintaining of contact lenses.
Accurately gather, document, and handle patient contact lens orders and payments.
Teach patients how to care for and use contact lenses.
Verify insurance benefits per patient request, file contact lens claims for any patients wishing to use their insurance benefits.
Cross-train to perform other tasks, including diagnostic testing and administrative front desk duties.
