About The Position

As a Consumer Underwriter you will use your knowledge, experience, and decision-making skills to quickly and consistently provide decision and options to staff as they assist members with loan requests that cannot be auto approved. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows programs.
A minimum of 5 years successful lending experience in the contact center or as a consumer lender.
The ability to analyze detailed financial and credit data, matching member needs with an appropriate loan program and level of risk.
A high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and must be analytical with soldi math skills.
Must be bondable.

Responsibilities

Evaluate the risk of consumer loan applicants.
Analyze credit history for all applicants and analyze tax returns for self-employed borrowers to determine their eligibility to repay.
Offer Member Service Representatives alternative options if the original loan request cannot be approved when possible.
Provide final verification for all consumer loan applications.
Provide guidance to front line staff on how to communicate to members that need assistance.
Maintain knowledge of Wisconsin and Michigan laws as they pertain to loans.
Provides input to management regarding possible workflow changes or improvements that could assist staff in an even more efficient manner.
This individual will be required to work Saturdays on a rotating schedule.
Normal hours range from 7:30am-5:15pm.
