Join our team and see what it means to be people helping people. Fibre Federal Credit Union is seeking a Consumer Loan Underwriter for our Longview, WA location. Wage Range: $28.81 - $45.01 The range above allows our employees room for growth through annual merit and other pay increases based on performance. The target pay range for this position is typically within the first half of the range. Compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. Must have the ability to determine credit worthiness of loan requests based on objective criteria and loan policy. Approves or denies loan applications based on analysis. Performs all reasonable tasks to protect the Credit Union from undue financial loss. Performs a variety of support duties related to the lending function within the Credit Union.

Requirements

  • Possess high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience - Two years Credit Union lending experience or equivalent.
  • Must be bondable.

Responsibilities

  • Must evaluate credit applicants for future loan approval.
  • Approves or denies loans and terms within the loan underwriter's own limits and established policies of the Credit Union.
  • Maintain delinquency and charge-off ratios within the established policies of the Credit Union.
  • Communicate the status of member applications with loan originators and loan processors.
  • Training new loan underwriters.
  • Attend underwriting training as necessary.
  • Follows Credit Union procedures as outlined in the Loan Department procedures and Policy Manuals, ensuring all dual control and internal controls are followed within their area of responsibility.
  • Review and analyze tax returns to verify income.
  • Provide assistance where needed in the Loan Department.
