General Purpose: Responsible for delivering critical lending operations processes surrounding loan administration, procedure management and servicing activities.

Requirements

  • A working knowledge of general laws, regulations, and lending industry standards.
  • An understanding of general ledger accounts, including recording and reconciliation.
  • A comprehensive knowledge lending products, services and insurance offerings. This includes features, benefits and how they are processed upon filing.
  • An advanced working knowledge of organization's policies/procedures and credit union's service philosophy.
  • Working knowledge of credit union's in-house lending computer systems, host and vendor systems.
  • Vision: A sighted person to handle cash transactions and verify financial transactions. Ability to complete necessary paperwork.
  • Speech/Hearing: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with staff, members and vendors.
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to perform necessary computer-related input.
  • Physical Mobility: Limited mobility required.
  • Requires the ability to work flexible hours.

  • Education: An associates degree in a relevant field, with a strong foundation in mathematics, writing, and reasoning skills.
  • One or more years of experience in a related field.
  • OR 3 or more years of relevant experience in lieu of formal education, provided the candidate has held equivalent responsibilities.
  • Formal training should be complemented by ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and maintain consumer lending procedures for all functions, from application entry and decisioning through post-funding.
  • Ensure procedures are clear, accessible, and consistent.
  • Oversee the administration of credit insurance, ancillary products, guaranteed asset protection, mechanical breakdown protection, and other insurance-related products and services.
  • Manage the posting of, addition of, removal of insurance payments or products.
  • Accurately record and reconcile incoming funds from providers to ensure timely processing and distribution of claims.
  • Ensure that claims, cancellations, and refunds are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Implement processes that help minimize errors and enhance processing.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of the department’s general ledger, ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded and balanced.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies to help maintain correct financial records.
  • Extract and analyze data from various loan and account reports to perform quality control audits, identify inconsistencies, and confirm adherence to internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide findings monthly, and as requested.
  • Ensure data accuracy and utilize reports to audit, review, and make sure there is consistency in loan files and processes.
  • Provide insight and recommendations to manager based on analysis.
  • Collect sales data from multiple sources, verify its accuracy, and use the information to prepare and distribute monthly reports and billing statements.
  • Oversee the preparation and distribution of monthly reports.
  • Ensure reports are accurate, comprehensive, and delivered to all relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Conduct thorough audits of credit card products to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the implementation of legal and regulatory changes by staying informed about updates, coordinating with relevant departments, and documenting changes into processes and procedures.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of current host, lending, and reporting systems.
  • Utilize this expertise to support system enhancements and troubleshoot issues.
  • Regularly update the product rate sheet and ensure all staff are promptly informed of changes.
  • Ensure the correct approval path is followed, and documentation of authorized changes is obtained.
  • Develop and maintain criteria for advanced review of consumer loan files.
  • Ensure Quality Control functions are performed at defined intervals and exception responses are obtained and documented.
  • Partner with Audit, Compliance, and external Examiners to provide loan data, conduct meetings and ensure responses are complete and delivered by deadlines.
  • Ensure updates of regulatory changes are known and implement necessary adjustments to Quality Control procedures.
  • Analyze data trends to identify potential issues and recommend areas for improvement.
  • Support the title processing and equity processing areas, ensuring smooth operations and continuity by stepping in to handle tasks and responsibilities as needed to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
