About The Position

Performs examinations and investigations of financial and other records of finance companies, mortgage brokers, mortgage loan originators, pawn shops, health spas and other lenders and creditors concerning individual transactions related to loans, consumer credit sales, rental purchase agreements and membership fees; Determines compliance with laws and regulations, including the Uniform Consumer Credit Code and the federal Truth-in-Lending Act, concerning disclosure, annual percentage rates, refunds, delinquency and deferral fees, extension agreements, and general business practices; investigates consumer complaints and other information related to overcharges, misleading advertising and other activities; Investigates consumer complaints and other information including, but not limited to, overcharges, misleading advertising and other activities. Reviews, processes and investigates applications for licenses, which may include, but is not limited to, background and credit reports. Prepares affidavits, reports and other materials concerning examinations, investigations and licensing. Obtains evidence for administrative hearings and provides testimony at administrative hearings. Evaluates the financial condition of mortgage lenders. Primarily responsible for performing routine entry level work in a training status to build their skills in conducting examinations and investigations of various creditors and licensees to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations; Trained by supervisors to conduct examinations and investigations of licensee records and transactions; Trained to prepare reports concerning examinations and investigations that have been completed; Must be able and willing to fulfill all job-related travel normally associated with this position. Job related travel is 75%; candidate must be willing to perform overnight travel within the State of Oklahoma and the United States. Ability to examine financial records and other business documents, conduct interviews, analyze information and make decisions, organize and present facts and opinions. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of accounting and auditing principles; of laws and regulations concerning financial institutions and other credit organizations regulated by the agency, including the Uniform Consumer Credit Code and federal Truth-in-Lending Act; of procedures for conducting interviews and investigations; and of modern office procedures, practices and equipment.

Requirements

  • Ability to examine financial records and other business documents, conduct interviews, analyze information and make decisions, organize and present facts and opinions.
  • Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles; of laws and regulations concerning financial institutions and other credit organizations regulated by the agency, including the Uniform Consumer Credit Code and federal Truth-in-Lending Act; of procedures for conducting interviews and investigations; and of modern office procedures, practices and equipment.
  • Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, mathematics or public administration or one year of auditing/examination experience or compliance experience with a business entity or government agency for each year of required education.
