The NDBF regulates financial institutions and entities which are Nebraska chartered, registered, and licensed. Financial Institution Examiners participate in the assessment of Nebraska state-chartered financial institutions to determine the existence of unsafe and unsound practices, violations of law and regulation, the adequacy of internal controls/procedures, financial adequacy, and the general performance of management. Additionally, as the financial and technological landscapes continue to merge, Financial Institution Examiners will leverage evolving technologies involving analytics, risk focused algorithms, operating standards and the voice of the consumer in conducting various NDBF examinations. An examiner is typically hired at the Examiner I level and progresses through the Examiner II and Examiner III (Senior) levels. A Senior Examiner must have completed appropriate core schools and have at least three years of regulatory experience. The Financial Institution Examiner position is a discretionary (at-will) position within our Financial Institutions Division, and based out of the Kearney field office at 4011 7th Avenue, Suite C. Schedule: Monday-Friday; 40 hours/week. Flexibility allowed with approval. Employee must be available during business hours.
