Role Overview This position will drive initiatives in support of the strategy for our full set of student loan solutions and products, focused on levers to optimize the P&L. The Product Manager III will partner with a dynamic, cross-functional team spanning Product, Design, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Data & Analytics, Risk, Pricing, and Capital Markets to drive growth and achieve annual goals. The Product Manager III will be a subject matter expert in defining the overall business strategy and financial plan, including knowledge of industry trends, production expectations, performance, forecasting, profitability outcomes, and goals for a portfolio of products. The Product Manager III consults with senior business leaders and directs allocated resources to plan, develop, implement, and measure product and sales initiatives to increase overall product portfolio performance while adhering to the risk framework.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 year's experience in product management, product development, finance, and/or general management.
  • Financial services experience required; student lending experience is a major plus.
  • Years of experience as a strategic thought leader and project manager.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance the customer journey, from Origination to Servicing.
  • Responsible for new product development in the student loan space, aligned to leadership strategic priorities.
  • Recommends new or enhanced product pricing and value propositions and collaborate with Capital Markets to ensure sustainable and competitive lending solutions.
  • Responsible for monitoring daily, weekly, and monthly acquisition performance trends, funnel conversion and results.
  • Responsible for understanding market conditions, the regulatory landscape and making recommendations for change as appropriate to internal and external conditions.
  • Accountable for scanning the competitive landscape, keeping a pulse on the competition with noted gaps, strengths, weaknesses and forecasting industry trends.
  • Accountable for forecasting accuracy, performance measurement and monitoring, and overall client experience and impacts.
  • Collaborates with acquisition partners (Affiliate/Partnerships, Marketing, Student Loan Consultative Services, Frontline, etc.) to achieve positive growth outcomes and measures results.
  • Partner with digital and technology teams on their respective roadmaps.
  • Lead business initiatives following a project plan and is responsible for outcomes.
  • Consult with business leaders and management to obtain buy-in and input on recommended innovations and product portfolio enhancements.
  • May present business cases and critical business updates to senior leadership.
  • Maintain focus on a well-managed student loan business within all the banks areas of Risk Management.
