Why This Role Matters As renewable energy and infrastructure projects expand, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and protecting endangered species is critical. Your expertise in bat acoustics will directly influence permitting success and conservation outcomes for wind, transmission, oil & gas, and technology infrastructure projects. What Your Impact Is Lead acoustic analysis tasks for large-scale capital projects. Drive compliance with NEPA, ESA Section 7 & 10, and state-level reviews. Develop survey protocols and manage field deployments that safeguard biodiversity. Deliver accurate, actionable insights through advanced data analysis and reporting. What You'll Bring Required Bachelor’s degree in biology or related field (or equivalent experience). 1+ years of experience with bat acoustical data, monitoring, and management. Proven ability in bat acoustic analysis, including manual vetting and ESA-listed species identification (e.g., Indiana bat Myotis sodalis). Proficiency in R programming for data analysis. Strong knowledge of bat survey techniques, habitat requirements, and conservation issues. Ability to work in rural/wilderness settings and adapt to seasonal travel demands. Excellent organizational skills for precise data management. Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area. Successful completion of drug screening prior to employment. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Preferred Master’s degree in biology or related field. Regional experience in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma. Familiarity with bat call analysis software (e.g., Kaleidoscope Pro, AnalookW, Sonobat, BCID). Experience with mist-netting and radio-telemetry surveys. GIS/GPS proficiency and digital data collection tools (ArcGIS Survey123, Field Maps).
