About The Position

About the Role As a Consulting Principal - Energy & Utilities (SME), you will make an impact by shaping large-scale business and digital transformations across electric, water, and gas utilities. You will be a valued member of our Energy & Utilities Consulting team—partnering closely with client executives, program leaders, and cross-functional Cognizant teams—to deliver measurable outcomes across the Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence: Project Execution, Expertise, Business Development, Practice Development, and People Development. Position Summary We are seeking a Senior Consultant with 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in AutoCAD or Automated Utility Design (AUD), ideally within the electric and gas utility sectors. It is a plus for the candidate to have knowledge of software testing, training delivery, requirement gathering, and GIS technologies (especially Esri Utility Network).

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of professional experience with AutoCAD or AUD, preferably in utility design.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire proficiency in new technologies, software applications, and industry domains.
• Education : Bachelor's degree required; MBA or master's strongly preferred.
• Work Authorization : Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
• Travel: willingness to travel extensively as client needs require.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of GIS platforms, especially Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, or Utility Network.
• Experience working in the Energy & Utilities sector.
• Familiarity with software testing methodologies and tools.
• Experience delivering or supporting training programs for technical users.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support AutoCAD or AUD-based utility design projects, including integration with GIS platforms where applicable.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and optimize design workflows for electric and gas utilities.
• Conduct software testing, develop test plans, and manage defect tracking and resolution.
• Deliver end-user training and create documentation for users and AUD configuration.
• Participate in client workshops, requirement gathering, and solution design sessions.
