As a Consulting Associate, Environmental Engineering, Geology or Scientist, you play a critical role in helping clients ensure regulatory compliance, protect natural resources, and restore impacted environments. You will: Support site investigation and remediation efforts that reduce environmental risk and improve land and water quality. Apply modern investigation technologies and sustainable remediation techniques in the field. Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental data that drives decision-making. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations to safeguard public and environmental health. Represent ERM in the field with professionalism while working with subcontractors, regulatory agencies, tenants, and clients.

Requirements

  • BS in engineering (chemical, civil, or environmental), geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or related field. Or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience, including task management and field implementation of remediation projects.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to established Health and Safety protocols.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; strong organization and analytical abilities.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Local candidates—or those willing to relocate—preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience recording and writing detailed technical data and reports (a plus).
  • Environmental field work experience.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental field work including sampling, drilling, monitoring well installation, and soil, groundwater, and free-phase product assessment.
  • Perform vapor intrusion assessments, remedial pilot tests, and provide oversight during remedial system construction.
  • Assist with groundwater and system performance monitoring and optimization.
  • Compile and evaluate environmental data and support technical report preparation.
  • Prepare environmental compliance plans, permits, and detailed reports for site assessment and remediation activities.
  • Execute Phase I and II environmental site assessments in support of property transfer transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Manage tasks within quality, budget, and schedule expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with subcontractors, regulatory representatives, tenants, and clients during field activities.
