The firm is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, with offices in Gig Harbor, Seattle, Wenatchee, and Bellingham, Washington; Portland and Baker City, Oregon; and Oakland and Irvine, California. Our internship program is well-regarded to provide premium hands-on environmental consulting experience. What we are looking for The ideal candidate will be an actively enrolled student in a course of study commensurate with the position, able to commute to Irvine, California daily. This is a paid, seasonal position with a duration of approximately 10 weeks. Hours worked per week may range from 20 - 40. Workdays may occasionally exceed 10 hours per day. The start and completion dates of the internship are flexible and will be determined with the selected candidate. What you will be doing at Farallon: The opportunity will provide exposure to many facets of the environmental consulting business. Projects range from small - to large-scale remedial investigations and cleanups. Sites are predominantly in Southern California. Interns may also work on our stormwater management and sampling and litigation support projects as well as a wide range of unique projects that frequently come our way. May assist in conducting historic and regulatory research, data management support, compilation, and interpretation. Gain experience with field data collection procedures. Other Duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older at the time of application.
  • Currently Pursuing an Undergraduate/Master in geology , environmental science , environmental engineering, or earth science as it relates to conducting cleanup actions.
  • Ability to travel at least 20-percent of the time or as required.
  • Reliable transportation allowing for independent travel to and from various worksites locally and state-wide.
  • The ideal candidate is expected to have their own vehicle for reliable transportation, willingness to work long days mainly outdoors in all weathers, a valid driver’s license, and safe driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Desire to learn about the environmental consulting industry, and integrity to follow instructions and safety protocols.
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training.
