About The Position

As a Consultant within the Value Pricing & Market Access practice, you will help lead and manage teams of Associates & Life Sciences Consultants – working with Partners and Principals you will: Interact with clients to understand problems, and develop and refine hypotheses to test Structure complex strategic and analytical problems that constitute the core of the team’s work Lead the daily operations of the team in executing and synthesizing analyses into key findings and actionable recommendation and participate in delivering these recommendations to our clients At Putnam, we pride ourselves on a team-based approach that is client focused and impact oriented. Requirements

  • Have demonstrated excellence during their academic career (MBA or post-graduate degree is preferred but not required).
  • Previous employment experiences (minimum 4-5 years’ work experience) with other top-tier consulting firms or within the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industries.
  • Strong competitive analysis and scenario planning skills; participation in the development of innovative strategies and plans based on a deep understanding of long-term trends, industry/category value drivers, payer, physician and patient needs, technological advances, competitive behavior, etc.
  • Proven analytic abilities and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in US pharmaceuticals pricing and/or market access for HCP-administered and/or patient self-administered small molecule and/or biologic medicines, for instance:
  • Drivers of payer access control design and implementation
  • Role and implications of channel intermediaries (retail pharmacies, specialty pharmacies, buy-and-bill distributors)
  • Impact of payer controls on physician ability and willingness to prescribe
  • Gross-to-net management e.g. payer rebating, provider contracting, and/or patient support services
  • Average Sales Price (ASP) modeling and contract strategy development
  • Team management and project management experience
  • Team-oriented attitude is essential.
  • A working knowledge of the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry is also a prerequisite.
