Why This Role Matters Infrastructure is at the center of the energy transition, decarbonization, and economic resilience. ERM’s M&A team—50+ specialists in technical, ESG, and EHS due diligence—is expanding to meet growing client demand. As a Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening our infrastructure offering and delivering high‑quality technical due diligence to infrastructure funds, private equity firms, investment banks, and energy companies. Your work directly informs buy‑side, sell‑side, and project finance decisions across global markets. What Your Impact Is In this role, you will: Shape investment strategies by evaluating technical, operational, and business‑plan performance of infrastructure assets. Lead the delivery of proposals and develop scopes, schedules, company profiles, and commercial terms. Coordinate key project milestones—Q&A submissions, management sessions, meetings, and final report delivery. Collaborate across multidisciplinary technical communities and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to bring the strongest insights to clients. Strengthen the Infrastructure Service Line by contributing to internal development, tools, and best practices. Your expertise will directly influence capital allocation, asset performance, and sustainability outcomes across the infrastructure sector. What You’ll Bring Required Solid academic background with an engineering bias (e.g., Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering). Or equivalent experience. 2-3 years of technical consulting, engineering, or operational experience in the energy or infrastructure sectors. Strong technical capability to identify risks and opportunities within technical documentation, site visits, and discussions—covering asset integrity, operational performance, management systems, and business plans. Excellent organizational skills, self‑motivation, and ability to thrive in fast‑turnaround environments. Commitment to quality and high standards for yourself and the team. Advanced report writing and presentation skills, with previous client‑facing experience. Preferred Experience managing external client projects. Ability to lead or coordinate complex project delivery involving multiple workstreams. Prior exposure to technical due diligence (preferred, not required). Corporate finance qualification. Interest in domestic and international travel for site visits. Knowledge of Capex and Opex cost expectations for engineering assets/projects. Familiarity with decarbonization strategies and technologies. Experience reviewing EPC contracts, Financial Models, engineering designs/specifications, and budgets for industrial projects.
