The Consultant, Technology Analyst supports both Run (incident management, production stability) and Build (enhancements tied to business strategy) work across Insurance, Reinsurance, and Claims technology platforms. This team supports the LTE Claims, URS, Docuware by TA applications. This role requires strong analytical skills, insurance domain knowledge, SQL capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The analyst plays a critical role in incident triage, business-facing communication, and solution delivery. This is a hybrid role will require two days work from office in any of the 3 locations, Columbus, OH, Des Moines, Iowa, or Scottsdale, AZ coming into the office on Wednesdays and Thursday. This team supports a business in the Central Time zone, so flexing hours to support that as much as possible is preferred. As a Technology Analyst you will partner with the business to understand business needs and outcomes as well as provide all types of analysis skills related to understanding and meeting business outcomes. You will translate business outcomes into solution requirements using techniques such as facilitation and visual management. A Technology Analyst should have broad technology and analysis experience including: facilitation with large stakeholder groups, managing the complete requirements lifecycle, conducting structured analysis using both quantitative and qualitative techniques, analyzing data and application suites, and problem-solving using a collaborative style. Technology Analysts are engaged in work efforts at all scales ranging from minor defect fixes and enhancements to development of new applications. You will also work on all types of solution approaches (e.g. custom development, package implementation) and domains (e.g. all application types, data warehouses, Web, and Cloud).

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience as a Technology Analyst, Business Analyst, or Systems Analyst.
  • Strong experience working in Insurance, Reinsurance, and/or Claims technology environments .
  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing and interpreting SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
  • Strong expertise in Jira, including creating, managing, and tracking requirements (user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional documentation).
  • Experience supporting both Run (incident management, production support) and Build (enhancement/project) work.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across business and technical teams.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, be a strong team player, and show high engagement and ownership.
  • Master analytical and communication skills, knowledge of planning.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and set priorities needed.
  • Ability to facilitate requirement sessions using visual techniques with senior leaders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Insurance or Reinsurance platforms (platform‑agnostic: underwriting, claims, policy, or finance systems).
  • Understanding of data mapping, ETL processes, or data warehouse concepts.
  • Exposure to reporting or visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • GenAI (Generative AI) experience , including: Using AI tools for documentation, requirements analysis, or test case creation Understanding prompt engineering concepts Applying AI-assisted workflows to streamline tasks
  • Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Run (Operational Support & Incident Management) Perform incident triage , analyzing the issue, scoping impact, and identifying potential root causes.
  • Assist in incident prioritization , balancing urgency, business impact, and severity.
  • Partner with IT Operations, SMEs, vendor teams, and business users to drive timely resolution.
  • Track recurring issues and contribute to long‑term remediation and stability improvements.
  • Document incident outcomes, patterns, and system behavior for knowledge management.
  • Build (Enhancements & Strategic Initiatives) Support enhancement and modernization work aligned with annual business strategy and priorities .
  • Work with business partners to translate requirements into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in solution design discussions and impact analysis sessions.
  • Support testing cycles including creating test cases, executing tests, and validating results.
  • Assist in user readiness, training, and deployment support.
  • Business & Systems Analysis Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements across Reinsurance and Claims.
  • Perform data flow, process flow, and workflow analysis to support solution delivery.
  • Recommend system and process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Act as a subject-matter resource for platform behaviors and data relationships.
  • Reinsurance & Claims Expertise Provide domain leadership across Reinsurance and Claims processes, data structures, and operational workflows.
  • Ensure configuration and enhancements align with business rules, audit needs, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support audits, reconciliations, and business reporting initiatives.
  • Data & SQL Skills Write basic-to-intermediate SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
  • Conduct data quality checks, identify data integrity issues, and support reconciliation efforts.
  • Provide insights from data to support both operational and strategic decisions.
  • Project & Delivery Support Participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, standups, backlog refinement, retrospectives).
  • Support defect management, documentation, and follow‑through to resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with business and technical teams throughout the delivery cycle.
  • With strong knowledge, partners with the business leaders and other technology professionals to understand business needs and outcomes.
  • Translates multiple business outcomes into solution requirements.
  • Responsible for applying secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Manages complex requirements and ensure business alignment using facilitation and visual management techniques.
  • Leads and/or executes the preparation of detailed documentation and clarifies moderate to complex work products requirements.
  • Provides complex analysis related to understanding and meeting business outcomes.
  • Drives with others to verify, trace and manage functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the applications used to support the business in a specific Business Solution Area(s) (BSA).
  • Conducts multiple quality improvements by providing complex analysis of relevant data.
  • Drives the complete requirements lifecycle from idea through implementation.
  • Leads requirement sessions with business leaders and other technology professionals using visual facilitation techniques.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
