About The Position

We are a leading, national consulting firm that provides compassionate, full-spectrum emergency management services including planning and preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation services to the public and private sectors before, during and after a natural disaster or catastrophic event. Our mission is to provide compassionate consulting services to local, state, federal, and industry clients, active in disaster response, recovery, and preparedness. We will be on time, on target, and on budget with the services aligned to the evolving threats and hazards facing our nation. The position will be guided by ACDC’s Corporate Values Platform in all activities. Position provides direct client support for EM Planning projects such as emergency operations plans, continuity of operations plans, emergency management program assessments, exercise development, after action reports, and other duties as assigned in the emergency planning space. Position plays a crucial role in developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive emergency management plans to ensure the safety and resilience of our organization and the community. Position reports to the Senior Emergency Management Planner II in the Planning and Risk Reduction Division and assists with client-facing projects.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Public Health (or equivalent years of experience in addition to the other minimum requirements).
  • 3+ years of experience in emergency management or related fields.
  • 2+ years of experience with emergency management principles, FEMA guidelines, and relevant regulations, including experience with national emergency management planning frameworks, such as FEMA’s Comprehensive Preparedness Guide 101 (CPG 101), Continuity Circular Guidance (CCG), and Comprehensive Preparedness Guide 201 (CPG 201).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsored visa is required. We are not able to employ those located outside of the US.
  • Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) training.
  • 1+ experience conducting after action reports.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of emergency management plans, policies, and procedures in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support effective client partnerships with local, state, and federal emergency management agencies, as well as community organizations, to facilitate coordinated response efforts.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal departments to integrate emergency management plans into overall organizational strategies.
  • Develop and implement training programs for client staff and emergency response teams to ensure they are well-prepared to execute emergency plans effectively.
  • Coordinate and conduct emergency response drills and exercises to evaluate the client organization's readiness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify and secure necessary resources for emergency response, including personnel, equipment, and facilities.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of emergency resources and ensure they are in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Periodically support client projects onsite and deploy to client sites to support staff augmentation roles during disasters.
  • Present on topics at industry conferences based on subject-matter expertise.
  • Assist with client-facing emergency management planning and preparedness projects.
  • Support the development of tools and resources to support efficient project- execution
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
