This Consultant, IT Delivery Leader role will support Data Services and the Finance Technology BSA. The successful candidate should possess an executive presence and significant project management experience delivering large and complex initiatives with multiple workstreams and dependencies. Strong working experience with project management tools and end-to-end agile methodologies in managing technical projects is required. The ability to quickly establish good working relationships with key business and IT partners is critical to the success of this role. Qualified individuals must have the ability to manage all aspects of a complex information technology project, including project planning, execution, risks, quality, and communication. Candidates must demonstrate strong skills and experience in strategic planning, stakeholder management, program governance, financial management, flexibility, and adaptability. If that sounds like something you aspire to, we want to hear from you! As a Delivery Leader you’ll be responsible for delivering value and outcomes. Delivery leaders are expected to have an end-to-end vantage point on delivery, manage dependencies, remove blockers, engage partners, manage financials, maximize vendor relationships, and enable an iterative delivery of value. You will need to keep pace with software delivery and organizational change methods and tools. Delivery leaders should also understand relevant Financial and Agile/Lean/DevOps tools and techniques.

Requirements

  • Six or more years of experience in technology or related field.
  • Three years demonstrated proficiency in delivering outcomes/projects.
  • Awareness of emerging technologies and/or industry trends.
  • Ability to make decisions and recommendations.
  • Aptitude to influence, establish relationships and set priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of associates, senior management and/or vendors.

Nice To Haves

  • Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
  • Technology certifications or PMI, SAFE, Agile or Lean designations are encouraged.
  • Undergraduate studies (bachelor’s degree preferred) in management information systems, engineering, math, computer science, data analytics or comparable experience and education strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drives the End to End delivery of expected business outcomes, realization of benefits as outlined in the business case, drives incremental value, drives incremental planning, and drives dependency scope definition.
  • Responsible for the communication, critical issues, visibility, change management guidance to deliver business outcomes.
  • Key contributor in the facilitation of contract negotiations, statement of work development and vendor oversight toward expected goals.
  • Drives the prioritization of deliverables, handles moderate to complex issues/risks, governs dependencies.
  • Is responsible for the delivery of status/health reports to drive value delivery tracking (ex: KPIs), optimizes the flow of value and ensures demand/capacity is handled.
  • Works with medium to large project/product financials.
  • Serves as a professional to others around delivering business outcomes, benefit realization, agile delivery, and Lean.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
