Doppelmayr is seeking a self‑motivated construction laydown yard laborer responsible for the general maintenance, organization, inventory control, and distribution of materials at the construction yard located at our main office in Salt Lake City. This role works closely with field crews and internal departments to support project needs across multiple job sites nationwide

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous construction experience required
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, climb, squat, kneel, push/pull, and reach as required by the role
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license required
  • Full-time position with variable schedules and overtime as needed
  • Ability to operate all classes of forklifts and elevated work platforms
  • Responsible for safe driving and delivery of materials and equipment, including towing trailers up to 30 feet
  • Ability to load trailers in compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards
  • Experience with rigging and working around heavy equipment
  • Understanding of basic mechanical functions and equipment operation
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools (saws, drills, pumps, etc.)
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions in manuals and on manufacturer websites
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Typical work week: Monday–Friday, 8–10 hours per day. May include evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

  • Maintain toolboxes, containers, and trailers to ensure cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness
  • Prepare, load, and secure construction tools, parts, and materials onto trucks for delivery to construction sites
  • Unload return trucks promptly and ensure all equipment and materials are accounted for
  • Inspect, service, and perform routine maintenance on mechanical equipment and rigging gear
  • Conduct inspections of personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall arrest systems in accordance with safety standards
  • Maintain accurate inventory and ensure proper storage of tools, vehicles, and equipment when not in use
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support construction and field operations
