About The Position

The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily telecom construction operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within scope, and to quality standards. This role supervises field crews and subcontractors while serving as the primary point of contact between the field and project management team.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in telecom construction (fiber, aerial, underground, or wireless)
  • Prior leadership or crew supervision experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of OSP/ISP construction practices
  • Ability to read and interpret construction prints and fiber documentation
  • Knowledge of permitting processes and utility locating (e.g., Miss Utility/Missdig)
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and GIS/Google Earth systems (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Fiber or telecom industry certifications (CFOT preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of telecom construction crews (aerial, underground, fiber, coax, and/or wireless projects)
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and OSHA safety requirements
  • Conduct job site visits, safety meetings, and quality inspections
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, fiber prints, splice diagrams, and scope of work documents
  • Monitor project timelines and ensure production goals are met
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment usage, and workforce allocation
  • Communicate daily progress updates to Project Managers and leadership
  • Identify and resolve field issues, delays, and quality concerns
  • Ensure accurate documentation, including redlines, as-builts, and daily reports
  • Enforce safety policies and maintain a strong safety culture
  • Assist with training and mentoring crew members
