About The Position

The Construction Site Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day coordination, oversight, and execution of construction activities on active job sites. This role serves as the primary on-site representative of the construction management team, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with approved construction documents, schedules, and quality standards. Working closely with the Construction Project Manager, subcontractors, inspectors, and internal stakeholders, the Construction Site Supervisor translates project plans into field execution. The role requires strong field leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues that impact schedule, quality, safety, and cost.

Requirements

  • 2 -3 years of experience in a supervisory role within the field of construction.
  • In depth understanding of commercial construction and team management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects.
  • Previous experience as a Site Supervisor, Superintendent, or similar field leadership role
  • Hands-on experience coordinating multiple trades on active construction sites
  • Familiarity with construction sequencing, inspections, and quality control processes
  • General knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
  • Ability to work on active construction sites, including frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating uneven terrain
  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds as required
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Responsibilities

  • Site Operations & Construction Coordination Coordinate and oversee all construction activities on-site across multiple trades.
  • Plan and manage daily and weekly work sequencing to support overall project schedules and milestones.
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for subcontractors and inspectors.
  • Schedule Support & Progress Tracking Support the Construction Project Manager in maintaining project schedules by tracking daily progress and identifying potential delays.
  • Communicate schedule impacts, constraints, and field conditions promptly to the Construction Project Manager.
  • Verify that subcontractor headcount and sequencing align with the approved schedule and planned milestones.
  • Construction Documents & Field Coordination Maintain a working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and approved submittals.
  • Review field conditions for consistency with contract documents and design intent.
  • Identify conflicts, omissions, or constructability issues and initiate Requests for Information (RFIs) as needed.
  • Support implementation of approved RFIs, Architect’s Supplemental Instructions (ASIs), and field directives.
  • Quality Control & Inspections Ensure all work is performed in accordance with contract documents, applicable codes, and MRN quality standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship, installation accuracy, and completeness.
  • Identify deficient or non-conforming work and coordinate corrective actions with subcontractors.
  • Be present for, schedule and report to Construction Project Manager on all municipal, third-party, and internal inspections, including calling for inspections that fall outside subcontractor scope when required.
  • Safety & Site Compliance Ensure site activities comply with OSHA requirements, local regulations, and company safety standards.
  • Verify that subcontractors follow established safety plans and site rules, including use of required personal protective equipment where applicable.
  • Identify and address unsafe conditions promptly and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Materials, Equipment & Resource Management Monitor on-site materials and equipment to ensure availability aligns with scheduled work.
  • Track material deliveries and storage to prevent damage, loss, or unnecessary waste.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and the Construction Project Manager to resolve material shortages or logistics challenges.
  • Support efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment to minimize rework and cost impacts.
  • Cost Awareness & Issue Resolution Maintain awareness of how field decisions and conditions impact project costs.
  • Support the Construction Project Manager by identifying potential cost exposures, change conditions, or inefficiencies.
  • Make timely, practical decisions in the field to keep work moving while escalating cost or scope-related issues appropriately.
  • Team Leadership & Communication Supervise and motivate on-site personnel to foster accountability, professionalism, and collaboration.
  • Set clear expectations for subcontractor performance, site conduct, and coordination.
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication with the Construction Project Manager regarding progress, challenges, and site conditions.
  • Contribute to a positive, solutions-oriented work environment that reflects MRN’s values.
